  • Works well and easy to handle and change pads.
Model: PA0001000
I qualify my review by the fact that I am neither using the water attachment, nor the top handle. So far. I haven't bothered to use the water attachment feature. This is in part due to being in the middle of home remodeling, and without a reachable water faucet until the plumber is done. In part due to my being easily confused and [possibly wrong on my part], attaching the hose contraption seemed a bit more complicated than just screwing it on like a garden hose. Mostly, because I see no need as long as one manually wets the surface being grinded, and keeps it moderately wet throughout the grinding and polishing. I couldn't [readily] get the top handle attached, because the release screws [for attaching such] were too tight on the grinder. I decided to give it a go without the top ... I was being lazy and impatient. For softer material (e.g., marble), or deep and controlled, isolated cuts, it will be more important to attach the top handle for greater stability. Nevertheless, since my immediate project involved grinding and then polishing the complete inside surface of a basalt kitchen sink [basalt is harder than granite], working without the top handle was fine. The tools size and ease of use allowed me to retain a smooth surface and gradation throughout. The pads included, with all their ranges, worked great for all my needs (including my adding stone polish when using the highest [finest] pads. I began with the lower needed [rougher grit] pads to grind out the uneven chisel marks I made when I cut the sinks drain hole via another - diamond bits - tool. Then. I switched to the increasingly finer grits [higher numbers] that came with the product -- until the surface was smooth and even. I was then able to finish with stone polish and hog's-hair buffing pads -- which the tool easily accomodated. The pads I used are still in good shape, so I will be able to reuse them for future projects. Changing the speed on the tool is easy. Its size accomodated the small space inside my sink [most other grinders would not fit]. It was easy to angle, and even to switch hands, as I made my way up the curved sides of the sink. I needed to be careful to not let the edges of the pad grind little scratches at those curves with diameters smaller than the pads, themselves. Due to the tools maneuverability, I could ensure this with little effort. 16 hours of grinding and polishing, and the tool and pads are still doing great. When I start using it for planned sculpting projects in the future, I'll post additional info if I find any weaknesses due to longer use (but, based on my initial experiences, I expect it to continue its good performance). The items were packed and shipped well. ... show more

  • Very tough strong and good product for the price.
Model: PA0001000
I have bought 3 of these grinders. The first one the gear case bearing failed due to water getting in the gearbox. I am now just using them for dry grinding. I have grinded thousands of sqft concrete with 7 inch discs. I am very impressed with the grinder. Even if its rates for 5 inch discs only it handles 7 inch fairly well. I had to change the brushes and bearings several times. I have no problem with the grinder overheating. The bearing failures are due to the big discs I am using when they vibrate. ... show more

  • Works good
Model: PA0001000
This thing isn’t name brand and was very skeptical. Was gonna spend big bucks for the makita but was only gonna use once. Worked to Put a nice smooth round edge to my granite countertop.

  • Wet Grinder with a great attitude and a good price for the quality!
Model: PA0001000
Wow, this is a great quality tool, and affordable for even a single job, like our mud room addition! We used it to shape and polish the rough edges on a thin granite counter top, backsplash and drainboard area. While it does require full protection from splash and spray (we set it up on a plywood board on two sawhorses, outdoors, and got out the boots, apron and FrogTogs!) the sanding pads did an awesome job along with the variable speeds. took a bit of practice and a firm grip for control, but we got reasonably good results for newbies. Only got a bit more tough when job delays took our finish work into the early winter; it is definitely NOT fun doing this on a near-freezing day with a light snow coming down. I attached the water hose to our utility sink inside the mud room for warm(er) water supply, so at least the water was not close to freezing, too. Overall, a great tool, and will likely find additional uses for it in the future. ... show more

  • So far, so good
Model: PA0001000
I just had a chance to inbox the unit today. There is a little bit of cheesiness going on with the water manifold and the guards but I didn’t use either of them. The abrasive pads and the polished itself work great! No idea on longevity, but I’ve been very impressed given how cheap the unit is. I used it to polish the edges on about a dozen mitre cuts in porcelain today. You can be sure I’ll be back on here to complain if it dies too quickly. I rated it a 3 star on longevity because it’s just too darn cheap to expect much more than a 3 star durability but in a few years if it’s still running, hopefully I remember to come back and update it! The pads it comes with are a nice broad selection of grits. The backing pad has some really great Velcro because the pads stick perfectly and it really doesn’t let go easily. I’ve had other similar machines that don’t stick as well and the pads come loose. ... show more

  • So so
Model: PA0001000
This polisher works ok it gets the job done. It’s a great product for the price but you can tell when you pick it up it’s not well made. The water connection line won’t tighten up so it swings back and forth when using it. The water valve doesn’t have very good fine adjustment. Also where it comes out doesn’t spread very wide. The guard doesn’t contain any water when spinning so count on getting soaking wet. To sum it up if your not using it everyday maybe once every few weeks then great product if any more than that spend the extra money and get a better made polisher ... show more

  • How close it got to the edges
Model: PA0001000
I was removing some acid stain from my back patio. I rented a cement diamond grinder which did a perfect job. I needed something for some of the edges this fit the bill. I didn't know there was such a tool, with water hose attachment it was a breeze. If it smears you don't have enough water flowing, after that it was like a pencil eraser. I finished my job in less than an hour. Very happy with the results. ... show more
